Company profile
ESL was established in 2002 as a joint venture between New Zealand Hops Ltd and Nutrizeal Ltd to process hops and develop interests in the nutraceutical, functional food and health ingredient markets. In April 2006, Nutrizeal Ltd acquired the shares of New Zealand Hops Ltd in ESL and, as such, became the sole owner. The combination of ESL’s supercritical capability and Nutrizeal’s freeze drying, encapsulations and presence in the nutraiceutical industry adds significant strength to the combined business.
ESL designed, built and commissioned the most modern supercritical CO2 extraction facility in the Southern Hemisphere using best quality equipment. The result is a highly specified, high capacity plant with unparalleled capability to harness an environmentally acceptable extraction technique and recycle extraction medium with the pure raw materials of New Zealand.
The company employs staff with a wide range of expertise in technology, electronics, computerisation, customer service, research & development and international business skills.
